Summer in Studio City: Things to Do Around Town

Summer is the season of fun. The children are on break, businesses are offering fun events, and parents are looking to make the most of their free time. As active members of the Studio City community, the Chernov Team makes the most out of their free time. Below are some of the activities that we find most exciting for the week of August 14 through August 21. We are sure you and your family will enjoy these activities as much, if not more than, us!

(1) RRS Thursday Night Fun Run
Let’s be honest, Los Angeles California probably has more fitness buffs per capita than any other city; and it shows! Road Runner Sports hosts a weekly 3-mile Night Fun Run, starting from their shop. . The RRS Thursday Night Trail Run offers more benefits than great exercise, and companionship with like-minded individuals; sign up for your Frequent Runner Card and start tracking your miles, while earning points towards free running gear. Put your body to work, literally.
Those looking to participate should meet at Road Runner Sports at 6:45 PM. The event will last until around 8 PM. The address is 12115 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91604. Directions to the location can be found here (just plug in your address in the starting point). We look forward to seeing you on the run!
(2) Studio City’s Farmer’s Market
Keeping in line with this week’s theme - how health conscious the residents of Studio City, the Chernov Team would like to share another staff favorite method of keeping top-quality nutrients in their system; the Studio City Farmer’s Market!
As a resident of Studio City, you are in close proximity to Sunday’s Farmer’s Market. Every Sunday from 8:00 AM through 1:00 PM, you can visit your local Farmer’s Market on Ventura Place (between Laurel Canyon Blvd. and Radford Ave. In addition to buying local, it is a great experience for the children; this Farmer’s Market provides petting zoos, pony rides, train rides, and face painting. While the parent’s support their local community, and their personal health, the children can have fun.

(3) Fitness Hike at Canyon View
The third, and final, suggestion for the health-conscious resident of Studio City finds represents the most physically intense option of this weeks trio: a fast paced, 6 mile hike through uneven terrain ultimately increasing in elevation by 400 feet! This is not for the lackadaisical fitness enthusiast. Just kidding, you are free to walk the 6 miles as well!
This is taken directly from the website this event was discovered on:

“Staging Area: Begin at Wood Canyon Trail off Canyon Vistas in Aliso Viejo. From Pacific Park/Canyon Vistas intersection, go Northwest on Canyon Vistas. Park legally (note street signs) on or near Canyon Vistas, preferably between Coastal Oak and Madia (22100 region of Canyon Vistas). Wood Canyon Trail starts as a paved sidewalk between a neighborhood park and tree-lined easement, then becomes dirt trail into the canyon.”

This event takes place on Thursday, August 17 from 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM. If you, or anyone you know, happen to be interested, you can register here. The event is located at 22144 Canyon Vistas Aliso Viejo, CA 92656. We hope to see you on the hike! hike?

While these 3 activities are by no means exhaustive, check back with us every week for a list of three other fun, but affordable, activities for you and your family!
