Where to See Fireworks Around Studio City

Sadly the Studio City Fireworks Festival and fireworks show have been cancelled this year. Luckily, because of Studio City’s central location, there are a lot of great options for viewing fireworks nearby.

Make a day of it!

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Every year the Rosebowl has their annual event AmericaFest (this is the 92nd year!) The event includes live music, food, a tribute to Michael Jackson, and an impressive fireworks show. The event is from 2pm – 9:30pm, fireworks are at 9pm. General admission $15, Reserved Seating $30. More info here: https://www.rosebowlstadium.com/events/detail/america-fest

The Starlight Bowl in Burbank. A concert and fireworks show can be enjoyed at this local event. This year’s performers are the High Street Band, a high energy group that play music from the 40’s, through today’s hits. General admission ranges from $10-25. Doors open at 5:30pm, show starts at 6:30pm. More info here: http://www.starlightbowl.com/

Great Views!

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. Take a quick 15-20 minute hike up to the top of this vantage point for some great views. On a clear night, you’ll be able to see fireworks from Redondo Beach all the way to Downtown LA! More info here: https://localemagazine.com/9-activities-la-4th-july/

Griffith Observatory. It’s a bit of a pain to get to with the crowds, but the view of the valley allows you to see multiple fireworks shows simultaneously! Bring a blanket, and curl up on the expansive lawn to take it all in. More info here: http://www.griffithobservatory.org/

Other Great Options!

Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Make a picnic and head over to Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a movie and fireworks show. This year you can catch the original Footloose movie, followed by fireworks. Tickets are $35. Doors open at 7:15pm and the movie starts at 9pm. More info here: http://cinespia.org/event/footloose-fireworks/

Hollywood Bowl. This is an LA classic when it comes to 4th of July options. Grab some food and wine, hop in an Uber, and enjoy a night at the Bowl. This year The Go-Gos (amongst others) will be performing before the epic fireworks shows. Tickets range from $37 to $282 and the show starts at 7:30pm. More info here: https://www.hollywoodbowl.com/events/performances/367/

Dodger Stadium. Baseball, the ultimate American pastime! This year you can watch the Dodgers take on the Pittsburg Pirates and then stay for a spectacular fireworks show. The game starts are 5:10pm and fireworks follow immediately after the game. Ticket purchase also includes a free American flag themed Dodgers t-shirt. Tickets start at $32 and can be purchased here: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?orgid=8&agency=MLB&pid=8532152&tfl=Los_Angeles_Dodgers-Schedule-Los_Angeles_Dodgers:_Schedule:_Schedule-na-x0-Desktop-Landscape

Don’t forget 4th of July safety! Here are a few quick tips:

  • Make sure your pets are secure before you leave the house as fireworks can be startling for them
  • Make sure to wear sunscreen, and re-apply!
  • Never point a sparkler or firework at another person
  • Always keep a fire extinguisher nearby in the case of an emergency
  • Drink responsibly and never drink and drive!

Whatever you do to celebrate the holiday, we hope we have a wonderful 4th of July from the Chernov Team family to yours!
