Let’s Thrown on Some Marvin Gaye, and Give Some Attention to Our Homes

It’s the day after Valentine’s day, and you’ve probably showered your significant other with massive quantities of love. Naturally, your home is feeling a little neglected after watching all the hard work you put into making you special person feel special. This article will briefly address a few ways you can show your home some TLC. Like love, it’s not always about grand gestures – it’s the little things that really matter.

Grab Some Paint and Give One Thing a New Paint Job

Just like a fresh new pair of kicks, or a snazzy hoodie with some funny writing on it, a small change can go a long way towards creating a fresh new image. Your home works the same way. Perhaps your living room is getting a little boring, and needs some flare, grab some red paint and create a bold new accent wall. You’d be shocked what a fresh coat of paint and a brand-spanking new accent wall can do for the overall feel of a home.

Switch Up Your Furniture

We all have our go-to outfit, but nobody wants to be a one-trick pony. Just like switching out your go-to outfit once in a while keeps things fresh, changing up your furniture arrangement can feel like you’re living in a whole new house (the irony is not lost on this author that we are talking about changing things up to make it feel like a whole new house, in an article about lavishing love on your house like it were a loved one… let’s not read too deep into that). Move your couch to an opposite wall, put the tv where the couch was, get rid of the area rug; voila! You have an entirely new room (kind of). The best part of all this is if the new look just isn’t doing it for you, you can always move things back… chances are that will feel new again as well.

You Give Flowers to Your Sweetheart, You Should Give Flowers to Your House

Everybody loves flowers, it elicits a sweet visceral response wherever they are found; it’s hard to look at flowers and not appreciate the beauty all around us that we take for granted on a daily basis. So why not splurge on some flowers for your house? For $50, you can turn your home into a sweet smelling, romantic, abode.

Give Your Home A Thorough Clean

It is difficult to keep this one in line with a romantic valentine’s day, while keeping the article itself PG, so we won’t even try. The bottom line is that cleaning your house is a good idea, even if it is tedious. A clean house is far more inviting and comfortable than a home with nonsense strewn all over the place. A clean bathroom is far less grungy than with hair in the sink and tub. Heck, just making your bed makes your bedroom look far more inviting (insert PG Valentine’s Day snarky comment here). If you regularly clean your house, then a deep clean shouldn’t take you that long, and a deep clean pays huge dividends.
