In an unusual turn of events, Southern California has received its fair share of May Gray recently. At this point, it would be wise to take Tony Bennett’s sage advice from “put on a happy face.” Unfortunately, it is unclear whether there is a causal connection between putting on a happy face, and gray skies clearing up (among other things). While the question is debatable, we should err on the side of caution and put on a happy face regardless. To that effect, here are some of the Chernov Team favorite comedy shows:

A. Connection Comedy – L.A. Connection has been a staple of improv comedy for a little over 4 decades. Until 2016, it was located right here in Studio City on Ventura and Sunnyslope. In 2016, they moved to their current location in Burbank. The prices are reasonable, and the laughter is priceless. If you haven’t been to one of their shows yet, you are one of the few; this should be rectified immediately. Their schedule can be found here.

ACME Hollywood Theatre – This bastion of comedy boasts enough seats to accommodate between 99 and 120 people looking for a laugh. It does not appear like the North Hollywood branch has any exciting events coming up soon, but you can stay up to date with their schedule here. The Hollywood branch has an exciting event, BERMUDA! Linoleum City, Secret Twin, and Pockets Improv!, which will be showing May 25, 2018, at 8:00 P.M. With very affordable tickets, it would be laughable NOT to see this show. Hollywood Improv –The Hollywood Improv is another favorite of improv connoisseurs, showcasing several big-name performers as well as regularly scheduled comedy shows. Feel like seeing Joe Rogan or Patton Oswalt perform? May 24, 2018, is your day! Want to watch the Hangover’s, Ken Jeong? The 25th is a good day for laughs! How about Jamie Kennedy? The 27th sounds good. Three examples should be enough.
