FALL/WINTER 2024: 5 TRENDS IN HOME INTERIOR DESIGN

There’s no place like home—especially come the change of seasons. If we’re going to be indoors during shorter days and chilly weather, we might as well create spaces that we love. Here’s a look at the top design trends that are gracefully dominating interiors this season.

Hot tip: You can find stunning pieces that align with these trends via The Agency’s trusted design partner, 1stDibs. 1. Minimalism, but make it warm.
Minimalism evolves with a cozy twist this season. Instead of stark whites and ultra-sleek surfaces, the focus shifts to earthy tones, organic textures, and layered neutrals. We’re here for plush boucle chairs, soft linens, and warm wood finishes.

2. Bring the drama with lighting.
Lighting becomes a focal point in interior design for fall/winter 2024. Sculptural chandeliers, oversized pendants, and unique sconces take center stage, bringing both form and function. And check your lightbulbs please and thank you; warm, dimmable LED bulbs make all the difference for ambiance as the days grow shorter.

3. When it comes to texture, more is more.
Think velvet cushions, chunky knit throws, sheepskin rugs, and woven accents. By layering tactile elements in tonal shades, you can create inviting, multidimensional spaces that feel of-the-moment yet not-too-trendy.

4. Biophilic is in our vocabulary.
As we retreat indoors for the season, many are intentionally bringing nature with them. Biophilic design incorporates greenery through indoor gardens, potted trees, and botanical wallpapers.

5. The 20s are roaring again.
The glamour of the 1920s is making a modern comeback this season. Art Deco-inspired details like bold geometric patterns, metallic accents, and rich jewel tones bring opulence and interest. Velvet, mirrors, gilding, oh my. Snuggle in and get cozy for the cold. And don’t forget to add that je ne sais quoi that will make your home a place you’ll want to be all season long.
