DIY Projects: You’re on a Budget, but Your Bathroom Doesn’t Have to Reflect That

On Friday, we promised to provide you with DIY articles to keep busy during the “lockdown” (thanks to less-than-responsible actors, we can’t go on hikes now). While the ChernovTeam is not GrubHub, UberEats, or Postmates, we always deliver.
Today, we’re going to discuss baller-on-a-budget style projects that will certainly look like expansive add-ons.
The first thing people notice about a bathroom (aside from overall cleanliness) is the fixtures. Luckily, there are a plethora of fixtures to pick from to really bring some pizazz to your bathroom. Even unique drawer/faucet/shower handles can completely change the look of your bathroom. Luckily for us, Amazon is still delivering.
Since we promised you a DIY component, you can always give your bathroom faucet an extreme makeover.
If you’re looking to really fancy-up your bathroom, a new frame for your mirror can change the entire look of the room. Not only are frames relatively cheap, but they really change the energy of the room.
Since adding a frame to your mirror is not DIY at all, we are going to swing all the way back in the other direction and suggest you build your very own towel rack. The truth is, nearly every bathroom has unused space, and a unique towel rack can really make your bathroom as a whole appear unique as well. If you’re interested in a fairly simple DIY project, building a custom towel rack is the way to go.
Another budget friendly DIY project, which has the practical effect of making your bathroom look brand-spankin’-new, is to re-stain the grout in the bathroom. Let’s face it, we have plenty of time for this time-consuming task. We all know that uncomfortable feeling we experience when we walk into a bathroom with nasty grout; if it creates a negative emotional response when it’s dirty, grout can create a positive emotional response when done properly. Moreover, staining grout with a color that contrasts with your bathroom floor is an up-and-coming trend in bathroom design, so get ahead of the curve.
These ideas should keep you busy until our next post, which will continue discussing DIY projects that will leave visitors wondering how you could afford to upgrade your bathroom so fabulously in these trying times. We’ll leave it up to you whether you let them in on the secret.
